EUROPEAN SOVEREIGN CLOUD PLEDGE

Europe’s technological independence, economic competitiveness and digital resilience depend on a strong sovereign cloud ecosystem. ESTIA’s European Sovereign Cloud Pledge calls for decisive European action to ensure that sensitive data, critical infrastructure and digital services can remain under European control.

The pledge sets out two priorities: a clear definition of sovereign cloud in the Cloud and AI Development Act, and strategic public procurement policies that support European sovereign cloud services. These measures will help strengthen trust, transparency and continuity of service while enabling European cloud providers to scale.
